YES! It is true and it CAN be done. I have tried it and its beyond amazing.
You can also add your own bits and pieces for example:
  • Bacon bits
  • baby rosa tomatoes
  • Sweet corn
  • Ham
  • Chorizo sausage
  • Parmesan cheese
  • The list of ideas is endlesssssss... use your imagination!

1/3 cup pasta (I like elbow pasta or penne)
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup low fat milk
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Combine the pasta and water in a large mug or bowl. Microwave on high for two minutes, then stir. Often the water will overflow while it heats up. It's OK if this happens.

If you don’t want it to overflow just make this in a very large microwaveable bowl. I also put a large dinner plate underneath if I am making it in a mug.

Repeat this for at least 2 to 4 more minutes, stirring at each 2-minute interval. The water should be completely absorbed and the pasta should be cooked through- if not cook it a bit longer (another 30 seconds to a minute) .

You may need to add one more teaspoon of water at this stage All microwaves are different so you will need to get a feel for how powerful yours is.

Remove from the microwave and stir in the milk and cheese. Microwave for another minute. Stir the cheese thoroughly into the pasta. I ALWAYS add extra cheese and other bits at this stage. Stir together and

INDULGE. Its delicious!

Attention cookie addicts and chocolate fiends!!!

This takes the brownie in a mug to the next level...

I came across this recipe on one of my favourite blog sites No.2 pencil and I am now addicted. I thought it would only be fair to share it with you!

Choc chip cookie in a cup...

Doesn't it look delicious?

Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Cup
created by Melissa at No. 2 Pencil

1 Tablespoon Butter
1 Tablespoon Granulated White Sugar
1 Tablespoon of firmly packed Dark Brown Sugar
3 Drops of Vanilla Extract
Small Pinch of Salt
1 Egg Yolk (discard the egg white)
Scant 1/4 of All Purpose Flour
2 Tablespoons of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Start by melting your butter in the microwave. Add sugars, vanilla and salt. Stir to combine. Separate your egg and add the yolk only to your cup. Stir to combine. Add flour, then stir again. Add the chocolate chips, and give a final stir. Cook in microwave 40-60 seconds, start checking for doneness at 40 seconds. Mine takes 50 seconds.

Don't forget to add a spoonful of vanilla ice cream before serving!

Brownie in a mug...

(for when you get the craving)

Very easy hot molten dessert/brownie for one: (measurements are in tablespoons but can also be a heaped dessert spoon)

1x Mug
1 tablespoon of butter (melted in mug)

then add....
1 tablespoon cake flour
1 tablespoon white or brown sugar (your preference)
1 tablespoon Milo/Horlicks
1⁄2 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped choc or choc chips (optional)
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon water to mix

Make a nice smooth chocolaty paste in the mug and put in the microwave for 30-50 seconds on high (depends how gooey you like it!)
For an extra treat throw in a ball of vanilla ice cream.
